Global Warming (TV)

The video I found in the Internet was a short clip that was televised on EBS, a national channel of Korean television. It was mainly talking about the concerns of global warming, and as a result what may happen to the polar bears that live in the North Pole. The video clip did not directly talk about global warming, but talked about how rapidly the glacier has been melting for the past decades due to the global warming. Which leads us to the fact that there are not enough areas for the polar bears to live. The video was also promoting the fact that the reason these kinds of natural issues are occurring is because of human beings, and that it is our responsibility to solve these problems.

Even though the video was not even five minutes long, I thought it was effective enough to enlighten the viewers and provide them a message. However, the part that I found interesting was that the video talked about how serious global warming by taking the polar bears as an example. The video chose the polar bears as a medium that refers to the victims of global warming. There are positive effects about it, but at the same time negative effects exist too. By using polar bears, which are friendly and be-loved animals, the audience can relate to the issue more easily. In addition, it catches the attention of the spectators by using cute video clips and photos of the polar bears. However, I also thought that the video was focusing too much on the polar bears that it did not really speak about global warming which is causing everything. The video should have provide some kind of information about global warming, in instance how can we stop global warming, or any counter plans to save the polar bears. It only discussed about how the polar bears were suffering from global warming and provided information like how much glacier melt through the past and how many polar bears died, which arouses the viewers attention. Anyways, I thought it would have be better if they mentioned about the global warming more.
