What is Mass Media?

Mass media, also known as mass communication, is a particular media that was devised to reach a larger audience or market. The mass media, although has been existing for a long time, was actually called 'mass media' for the first time in the 1920s when new technology such as printing and recording allowed massive duplication of materials. However, due to the expansion of digital communication technology such as cell phone, and Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB), the primary definition of mass media is obscure.
